Question
What can you think of that is not made of any material thing in the universe?
I asked this previously in a different section, but I thought Id try again in a different section as recommended by answerers.
Answer
You cant think of something that does not have a basis in material nature. That is the limit of the mind. brbrFor instance, you cannot think of pure gravity. You have to relate gravity to something you can think about, such as an apple falling to the ground. Then you postulate the concept of gravity, which is built around objects and their observed behaviors. You cant think about just plain gravity. brbrSimilarly, empirical behavior needs a being to behave empirically. Without the material counterpart to lend your conception substance, the concept disappears. brbrMaterial reality is the basis of intellectual thought and a person cannot supersede that. What you CAN do is EXPERIENCE the pure consciousness, the place Lao Tsu calls quotthe darkness of darkness.quot brbrBut you cannot think of it
